AGILE
An agile approach enables teams to respond quickly and efficiently to changes in customer needs and business goals. An agile mindset also allows organisations to embrace change and be more adaptable.
What is Agile
Agile is a way of thinking and working that has its roots in software development but can be applied to any type of work. The basic idea is to break work down into small pieces, get feedback early and often, and make changes quickly and easily. It’s important to first understand what Agile is before you can start applying an agile approach to your projects.
Agile insights
Agile is a complex topic, and there are many different interpretations of what it means. The Agile Manifesto is a good starting point for understanding the basics.
Agile Manifesto
The Agile Manifesto is a declaration of the values and principles of agile software development. It was created in 2001 by a group of 17 software developers. It consists of four values and 12 principles designed to guide software development teams in the agile software development process. Although some may see it as an older process guide, It can be adapted to suit all types of industries and projects.
Agile Methodology, Frameworks & Modules
Agile methodology, frameworks and modules are all similar to one another. They are different approaches to software development that focus on the needs of the customer, changing requirements, and quick delivery. Agile methodologies emphasise communication and collaboration between team members and stakeholders. There are many different agile methodology frameworks, such as Scrum, Kanban, and Lean.
Scrum
Scrum is a framework for developing and maintaining products. It is most commonly used to develop software and is also used in other industries, such as hardware, automotive and aerospace. Scrum is a set of values, practices and rules that aim to optimize the development process. It is important to understand the three pillars of Scrum are transparency, inspection and adaptation.
Kanban
Kanban is a system for managing work and workflow. It relies on a visual board to track progress and identify areas of improvement. Work is typically divided into three categories: to do, in progress, and done. Tasks are then moved from one category to the next as they are completed. Kanban can be used in a variety of settings, but it is especially well-suited to software development.
Project Management
Project management is the process of planning, organising, and managing resources to bring about the successful completion of specific project goals and objectives. It involves setting clear goals, creating a detailed plan to achieve them, assigning specific tasks to team members, tracking progress, and troubleshooting any issues that may arise along the way. Good project management skills are essential when it comes to agile organisation transformation.
