AI Prototypes for Aged Care Client

Aged Care

The Challenge

An Australian aged care provider caring for 2,700 residents across 40 homes was losing carer time to fragmented, manual documentation spread across up to 20 disconnected platforms. With the sector undergoing systemic reform following the Royal Commission, the organization needed to rapidly identify and build AI capability without compromising quality of care. The complication wasn't willingness, no one had a clear picture of where AI would actually make a difference, and the pace of reform meant they couldn't afford to spend months finding out.

Our Approach

In conjunction with our Portfolio Partner GADALI:

  • Highest-value AI opportunities identified in 2 days by running a human-centered design sprint with 20+ participants, mapping the full resident journey from intake through to ongoing care management across care, operations, and governance
  • 5 working prototypes built in 2 days through rapid ideation and wireframing sessions produced a voice-activated shift worker app, intelligent resident profiles, and 3 further AI-powered care tools ready for pilot
  • 12-month transformation roadmap delivered by sequencing solutions from pilot to scale, backed by a data foundation and AI-skilling program to sustain momentum beyond the sprint

Outcomes

In just 2 days, our team moved from initial opportunity identification to 5 fully functional AI prototypes ready for pilot testing. This rapid sprint produced a diverse set of solutions, including a voice-activated shift worker app and intelligent resident profiles, all designed with a single goal in mind: giving carers back more time with residents by taking the burden of admin off their plates.
