Michal Rosolowski - Poland

The Back Story monthly interview features ADAPTOVATE employees from around the world.

Our team is the greatest asset we have, and it’s a privilege to share just a little bit more about who they are. This month we feature Michal Rosolowski - a team member in our Warsaw office.

First up - how long have you worked with us?

I started in July 2022

Why did you join us? Were you in the industry previously, or looking for a new career direction?

I joined ADAPTOVATE because I was looking for new growth opportunities, especially bigger diversity of projects and clients, access to large pool of SMEs and knowledge repositories and some hands-on engagement into transformation projects which I'm most interested in. Previously I was an Enterprise Agile Coach in a large software engineering corporation, by education I am an electronics and telecommunications software engineer.

How has your previous experience and career helped define where you are now? Would you have done things differently?

It did greatly! Software engineers and ADAPTOVATORs have a lot in common - we like logical thinking and structuring, we like patterns, we like pragmatic things that actually work and bring value.

Which talent would you most like to have?

Impress people as a guitarist and musician in general.

What do you most value in your friends and in colleagues - and are they different things?

I value honesty, fragility and the ability to self-reflect and talk about it. I don't hang-out with superheroes and their perfect lives.

What is your idea of perfect happiness?

I don't think perfect happiness exists, nor does permanent happiness. Happiness happens from time to time and we should appreciate those moments. I often appreciate them from a past perspective unfortunately. I say: "actually I felt so happy back then". I could say perfect happiness is the ability to recognise small happiness when it actually happens, not later.

What is your greatest extravagance

It was a brand new car that I bought for the first and the last time in my life. Overpriced, under-reliable and still too new to get rid of it.

Michal Rosolowski

Which historical figure do you most identify with?

I never thought about this, there is no historical figure that I refer to, compare myself to or sympathise with actually.

What is your motto?

"Better ask for forgiveness than permission". However the older I become the harder it is to stick with it.

Finally - You've time travelled back to your 10-year-old self - What advice would you give?

Become a father earlier instead of giving excuses. My kids would have been adult by now.
