CASE STUDY - OKRs in higher education
Our higher education institution came to us with this challenge:
We are a leading Australian University that is leading a multi-partnership program where we want to empower communities to lead their recovery from natural disasters. We want to leverage indiginous wisdom. So far our team consists of two different organizations who work differently, with a different culture of communication. We want our team to improve their transparency and alignment, and be able to communicate collectively back to the stakeholders, ensuring they have demonstrated outcomes, and are clear on their accountability to show a return on investment to gain future funding. Can you help?
In collaboration with the University we were able to work with the program team using different key approaches to get alignment from all partners.
Key approaches from ADAPTOVATE helped:
- We facilitated Objective and Key Result (OKRs) and Roadmapping workshops to align the team on expected outcomes, priorities and helped break down the work needed to deliver on expected outcomes
- Delivered follow up small group coaching sessions to further refine and uplift OKRs, defining sprint goals and creating tangible work items to support goals
- Close collaboration with team members responsible for embedding ways of working so that agile ways of working receive buy in from the team and are sustainable, including:
- Focused training to build the skills and knowledge to support alignment of the broader team
- Agree on approach supporting cultural considerations including interactions, language and further highlighting indigenous participation
- Facilitated Showcases for the various teams to celebrate and share learnings
